Second-Degree Accelerated Baccalaureate Pogram in Nursing

There had been scarcity of nurses in the nursing homes and in the hospitals. And with that, different programs had been offered to aid in this healthcare need especially in the nursing homes. One of the programs offered is the accelerated second degree nursing which is created for men and women who is a holder of a baccalaureate degree in another area and desires to engage in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

This is a full time program that has of two parts. One is a 28 credits, Pre-nursing requirement. It consists of physical and social sciences, mathematics, and humanities. This can be taken either as part time of fulltime depending upon the student’s desire. The other part of this program is the 59 credits, Nursing Requirement. This includes the theoretical and clinical exposure.  This can be taken on a full-time basis. This Second Degree Accelerated Baccalaureate Program in Nursing would lead into a bachelor of science (BS) in Nursing degree. Because of the intensive nature of the classes, students are strongly encouraged to have 100% focus on the course and avoid outside employment when under the  accelerated program.

Since the students came from diverse courses, hence they can have the chance to share different experiences to their classmates and to the faculty which can enhance their knowledge and practical learning. Furthermore, the students can flexibly leave after a baccalaureate degree is completed.
